Everyone’s favourite dating show, Celebs Go Dating, is back for an eighth series in 2020.

The Channel 4 show, which sees comedian Rob Beckett narrating, kicked off series 8 on Monday, February 24th.

As always, the dating agency’s receptionist – Tom Read Wilson – is back, along with Anna Williamson and Paul C Brunson as the celebrities’ life coaches.

The absolute legend that many will recognise as Robbie Jackson from Eastenders appears on series 8 of Celebs Go Dating.

As well as Dean Gaffney, Malique Thompson-Dwyer, Olivia Bentley, Josh Ritchie, Amy Childs, Alison Hammond, Amy Hart and James ‘Lockie’ Locke are also looking for love on the Channel 4 show.

Dean’s managed to bag himself a date for the group trip to the Dominican Republic. But viewers have noticed something about Dean Gaffney – Where are his scars from?

Dean Gaffney on Celebs Go Dating

Celebs Go Dating just wouldn’t be the same without a real variety of famous faces.

From Essex’s finest Vajazzler to Made in Chelsea’s Miss Popular, the 2020 series has cast some stand-out characters.

Although he hasn’t been on telly since 2013, Dean Gaffney is a welcome addition to our screens. The last time TV viewers would have seen him was when he played Mick in Misfits.

Previous to his roles in Misfits, Extras and M.I. High, Dean appeared on ITV’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in 2006 and came in fifth place.

The ex-Eastenders actor has fans young and old and now, his fan base just got even larger due to his appearance on the Channel 4 show.

Where are Dean Gaffney’s scars from?

Anyone who has watched Celebs Go Dating, or Dean in any TV capacity, may have noticed some facial scars on the soap star.

Unfortunately, Dean (or the Giff-Gaff as Rob Beckett would say) sustained some serious injuries during a car crash in 2013.

Thankfully, the actor managed to survive the accident which took place in Derby. Dean was travelling at 40 miles per hour and endured the crash just 20 minutes into his journey.

Speaking on TV show Daybreak, Dean said that he wasn’t wearing a seatbelt at the time. This meant that the airbags in the car didn’t inflate.

According to a 2013 report from The Daily Mail, Dean was left in a critical condition. He explained how he was “lucky”, stating that had he sustained injuries higher or lower on his head than they were, he could have endured brain damage or blindness.

When does Celebs Go Dating 2020 finish?

As always, Celebs Go Dating has been a hit in 2020.

Viewers probably won’t be pleased to know that the grand finale of series 8 takes place on Thursday, March 19th.

Episode 20 airs at 9 pm and sees the celebrities and their dates celebrate the final of the series in the Dominican Republic.
