Since 2005, the Sony corporation brand, Bravia, has created some of the most advanced television sets for us to enjoy in our living rooms.

Having the ability to view the content of a mobile device directly on your TV screen is a sought after requirement when purchasing a TV, but this feature sometimes comes with a few problems.

What is screen mirroring?

The screen mirror function will enable you to display the content of your mobile phone, iPad or other mobile devices, directly on to your television, this comes in handy when you want to view your favourite mobile app on a larger screen.

Screen mirroring can be achieved directly through a cable or via Miracast or screen mirroring compatible devices.

What’s required for screen mirroring? Firstly you will need a Wi-Fi connection and, ideally, a smart TV.

However, if you do not have a smart TV, you can cast to your telly via devices such as an Amazon Firestick or Google Chromecast.

Sony Bravia screen mirroring registration failed – Why?

This error can occur for more than one reason.

Firstly, when trying to connect directly through Wi-Fi, the ‘registration failed’ message can appear. Because screen mirroring requires communication between two devices, errors can occur during the syncing process.

Try selecting the return button and restarting the process to resolve this error. Alternatively, switch all your devices off, then try rebooting them and start the registration steps again.

Another reason why screen mirroring registration may fail is due to a time-out error that displays if registering is not achieved within two minutes.
