Freeview is airing Premier League football games in 2020.
The matches are usually only available to watch with a paid subscription to sports channels such as Sky Sports. However, Sky has relaunched the Pick TV channel on Freeview and is supplying the football matches on this free-to-air channel.
Non-football fans may not be as hyped at the fact that the matches are being shown on air for free. However, with public venues, bars, restaurants and pubs only just beginning to open up again, it’s pretty vital for footie fans to be able to watch these important matches.
The games kick off from June 21st and come to an end on July 20th. While the living room may not replicate pitch side seats, it’s safe to say that having the matches available for everyone to watch at home is a good enough substitute.
Pick TV: Is there football on Freeview tonight?
Yes, there is football on Freeview tonight (Thursday, July 9th).
Starting at 6 pm, Bournemouth vs Tottenham will air on Pick TV (Freeview channel 11).
While neither Bournemouth nor Tottenham fans will be able to get themselves into the stands this summer, watching from the sofa will have to do.
It’s not only the fans that are experiencing some changes in the football season but players are, too. Football players are, of course, used to having stadiums packed out with fans cheering them on. However, they’ll have to get accustomed to playing with a bit of peace and quiet in 2020.
