You may find that your Toshiba TV keeps rebooting or turning off at random intervals. This is a common issue and can often happen – especially when you’re changing the settings like your volume.
This can be very annoying and highly frustrating, especially if you’re just about to watch your favourite show or movie. You may also find that the TV completely stops responding, restricting you from using the remote control.

How to stop my Toshiba TV from rebooting
Given the wide range of possible causes, there are a number of ways you can try to solve the issue.
The first step for you should be to check with Toshiba to see if the model has a firmware bug and if there is an update available to fix it and if so make sure this is updated to the current version.
One cause of the problem could be that static electricity is building up, so try following these steps:
- Turn off the main supply to the TV or unplug it from the socket.
- Press the TV’s power button, generally situated in the front.
- Hold the button for a few seconds.
- Plug it back in and try navigating using the remote.
If this fails, try going for a factory reset. The procedure might differ in different models, however, it more than likely goes as follows.
- Turn off the TV by long-pressing the main power button.
- Hold for about five seconds.
- Unplug the TV wire or turn off the main supply and leave for at least a minute.
- Plug it back and see if the problem is fixed.
