As with a lot of techy devices, it always best to check that all of the cables are in good condition and connected properly within your home entertainment system.

Also, try to turn everything off at the wall, wait around a minute, and turn it on again.

What does BT advise for error code YVM401?

  • Firstly, check your broadband connection.
  • Now, press the YouView button, then go to ‘Settings’.
  • From here, select ‘Signal & Connection’, then ‘Broadband Connection’.
  • The status should appear as ‘Connected’.

If you’ve discovered here that your broadband hub isn’t connected, please follow the next steps.

  • Turn off your internet hub, wait 30 seconds and turn it back on again.
  • Now, wait until the broadband light turns blue.
  • Do the same for your YouView box – turn everything off at the mains, turn it back on again and try again.
